Services

We offer full day care for children aged 3 months – 5 years old and we also offer a before school, after school and school holiday club for children aged 5 – 11 years old.

With all our children we plan learning experiences in response to their interests, enthusiasm and needs. All our children are unique and as such their current interests and needs are addressed, in addition to lots of learning opportunities provided to them on a continuous basis. We strive to create strong partnerships with parents and carers, working together to enable us all to help our children develop and achieve in their learning.

The baby room caters for up to 17 children aged between 3 months and 2 years.

Willow is a relaxed home from home environment where children are nurtured and given lots of love care and attention.

Staff in willow support children’s developmental progress by following the Early Years Foundation stage concentrating on the prime areas of learning which are physical development, communication and language and emotional and social development they do this in a variety of ways and play is a combination of sensory and messy play activities and a wide variety of carefully chosen toys, books and resources appropriate to their age and stage of development to aid their developing understanding of the world.

Kim Parker – Kim has a BA Hons degree in Childhood Studies.

This room is for children aged between 2 and 3 years.tree-green

In this room children are inspired to develop lively, enquiring imaginative minds, and to build on their social and personal life skills. Circle time, dressing skills and toilet training are promoted. The focus is on purposeful play that sets the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. Children are stimulated to find learning fun and their achievements are recognised to develop their confidence self esteem and their developing understanding of the world.

We focus strongly on the three prime areas of the EYFS which are: Communication and Language, Personal Social and Emotional Development and Physical Development. But also allow children to explore the specific areas of the Early Year Foundation Stage which are Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts and Design.

The child will also receive their two year old check whilst in this room usually 6 months after their second birthday.

Handprints Nursery offers free funding for 15 hours per week for children aged 2-3.

Our experienced high quality care continues in Pre-school where we expertly guide your child through the wonders of learning. All staff have rigorous training on the Early Years Foundation Stage to enable them to deliver an effective, exciting curriculum. Self confidence and a real enjoyment for learning are instilled so that when children start school they are self assured and raring to go!

Our aim is that each individual child will have good foundations in all areas of learning that will enable them to achieve much and reach their full potential during their school life. In this age group we build on the prime areas of the early year’s foundation stage which will now be established to enable children to explore the specific areas of the early year’s foundation stage which are Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts and Design.

Sarah Whiteley – Sarah has a P.G.C.E in primary education with SEN level 6. Sarah is also our Early Years Champion and Forest School Lead.

Sami Newton – on maternity leave until early 2020.

Georgia Gray – Currently holds a Level 3 in Early Years. Georgia is also our Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator.

Kerry Monkhouse – Level 2 qualified Child Learning and Development.

treeOak Before, after and School holiday club operates from within the nursery ensuring the children have flexibility in the choice of activities they wish to participate in, that are suitable for their age, including:-

  • Arts & crafts
  • Board games
  • Wide access to outdoor space, which offers many opportunities for creative play
  • Cooking & Baking

Both indoor and outdoor activities promote inclusion. All the children have lots of fun! It’s like having friends round to play each night!
